Having enjoyed teaching Technology and Art for over 30 years, I have recently retired and can now focus my enthusiasm for creating sculptural and decorative ceramic pieces.

I use various methods to construct the work by hand and hence each piece is unique.

My interest in organic forms has continued to develop from making individual jewellery pieces to sculptural ceramics.

I am enjoying the new experience of Raku with its immediacy and the often unexpected results and look forward to experimenting further with different processes and techniques.
I live in Weymouth with my artist wife Jan.

Stoneware
The more sculptural work, is constructed by hand, using craft crank (a heavily grogged clay). The stoneware glaze then applied is fired at 1280c, making it durable and strong and suitable for a garden or outside environment.

Raku
Each pot is hand built and unique. The Raku process involves plunging the red hot pot into sawdust. The end results can be varied and often unexpected. The crackle in the glaze and some of the irregular effects are all part of this unusual process.
